Vancouver Whitecaps FC to face CPL side Cavalry FC in 2024 TELUS Canadian Championship Quarter-Final

VANCOUVER, BC – Two-time defending champions Vancouver Whitecaps FC will open defence of their title against Cavalry FC of the Canadian Premier League (CPL) in the quarter-final round of the 2024 TELUS Canadian Championship.

The CPL side will host the first leg at ATCO Field at Spruce Meadows on May 7 at 6 p.m. PT. The ’Caps will then host the second leg on Tuesday, May 21 at BC Place, with kickoff at 7:30 p.m. PT. Tickets to the second leg are included for Whitecaps FC season members and single match tickets will go on sale to the general public on Wednesday, April 24 at 10 a.m. PT at ticketmaster.ca/whitecaps.

The ’Caps will be looking to win a third consecutive Voyageurs Cup after winning the Canadian Championship in both 2022 and 2023. The winner of the Canadian Championship will qualify for the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup.

Cavalry FC advanced to the quarter-final round after winning 1-0 at home against fellow CPL side Vancouver FC of Langley in the preliminary round. This will be the third time that the ’Caps face the Calgary side in the TELUS Canadian Championship. In 2019, the CPL side pulled off the upset, and in 2022 the ’Caps returned the favour on the way to winning the Voyageurs Cup.
